Sweetie and his best friend, Bunny

Sweetie, "Waiting for Santa"
December 10, 1996
(only 5 days before he went to Rainbow Bridge)
After losing Sweetie, I found it very difficult not having a little dog following me around any more.  I searched everywhere for a reputable breeder.  I also searched Rescue Shelters and the Internet.  I wanted and needed another little dog like my Sweetie.
Well, . . . along came Beau!
I drove more than two hours after work to pick up Beau in the high desert city of Hesperia.  He was 10 weeks old and very tiny, but had a very BIG attitude.
I had forgotten to bring a crate so I drove home with him in my inside jacket pocket.

This is a very bad idea!      DO NOT DO IT!
I could have crushed him against the steering wheel if I had stopped suddenly.  I now travel with my dogs only if they are in crates and the crates are secured in the back seat.  (An airbag could crush their carrier and kill or injure them in the passenger seat.)   That is the only safe way to travel with these little ones.
